Enclomiphene half-life
Enclomiphene is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (a SERM) and the trans-isomer of clomiphene. It clears the blood fairly quickly, with a plasma half-life of about 10 hours, which is why it is taken once daily and settles at a steady level within about 2 to 3 days rather than accumulating over the long term. That is the key contrast with clomiphene's other isomer, zuclomiphene, which has a half-life of days to weeks and lingers long after dosing stops.
What a half-life actually means
A half-life is the time it takes for half of what is in your blood to be gone. It does not mean the compound is finished at that point. Half goes, then half of what is left goes, and so on.
That is why the last traces take so much longer to disappear than the first. Most references treat something as effectively cleared after about five half-lives, which for Enclomiphene is roughly 2.1 days.
