Methylene Blue half-life
Methylene blue (methylthioninium chloride) is a synthetic thiazine dye, and its blood level falls in more than one phase rather than at a single steady rate. Most of a dose clears with a half-life of about 5 to 6.5 hours, so the bulk leaves the blood within a day and once-daily dosing produces little build-up, though the FDA label reports a slower terminal phase near 24 hours as the drug moves back out of tissue. It peaks within roughly 1 to 2 hours by mouth, is about 94% protein-bound, and forms only a minor, much weaker metabolite that does not meaningfully lengthen how long it stays in the blood.

A half-life is the time it takes for half of what is in your blood to be gone. It does not mean the compound is finished at that point. Half goes, then half of what is left goes, and so on.
