Dutasteride half-life
Dutasteride is a prescription dual 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor with a very long terminal half-life of about 5 weeks, so it leaves the blood slowly and each dose overlaps heavily with the ones before it. It is taken once daily, and because clearance is so slow the drug accumulates over months rather than days, reaching roughly 90% of its steady-state level by about 3 months.
